As dance teachers, our voices are one of the ways in which we relay information to our students.
Your tone, sound quality, inflection, and enunciation are all factors in communicating clearly and concisely to your students.
A deep, monotone voice may be intimidating or ineffective in reaching students. If a voice is too high pitched or too loud, it may also be challenging for students to connect with you.
Think about your vocal approach- is it an appealing tone? Do you sound encouraging? Do you have a variety of tones to indicate different emotions (positive, teaching, reinforcing, stern)?
Think about it. This is a small factor that plays a large part in your effectiveness in reaching students!
