The dance studio space requires significant time, upkeep, and commitment to maintain a tidy appearance. Never underestimate the power of a clean studio!
When the infrastructure sets the tone for a neat and organized appearance, staff, parents, and students will follow. There should not be areas of cluster or junk- everything should be organized and placed. When organization and cleanliness is prioritized, studio visitors will adapt to the standard.
Of course, there will be always be outlying occurrences, but when the conversation is approached via the respect perspective, people have an easier time molding to the expectation. As I tell my students, I would never go into your home and throw trash on the floor, touch your windows/mirrors, or pick at your flooring.
It is all about building a great community!
