Polishing and perfecting your students’ recital routines is an important component of a stellar end of year performance. While the routine is the center focus, it is also important to practice the entrance and exit process to make the transition to the theatre smooth and seamless.
Components to practice include:
- Lining up in the wings
- Entering the stage and finding “places”
- Standing quietly, frozen, until the music begins
- Exiting the stage
- Practicing entrance/exit in the “dark” (with younger students)
When students are familiar with every expectation of their performance moment, it makes the entire process fun and exciting!
