I remember how much I loved the movie Harriet The Spy. I wanted a black and white marble composition book just like Harriet because I loved how she organized her thoughts and kept them in a treasured location. As I chatted with some of my industry friends, I realized that we are undervaluing the art of writing, and, perhaps, even, the art of thought.
This year, we are taking time to think in our Company Rehearsals. We will not just think- we will write. We will document our journey, and it will allow us an opportunity to gain insight and reflect on behavioral patterns.
If everyone does this, think how much more self-aware and insightful our students will be in their classes and performances.
This is an example of a dance lesson that directly translates to an applicable life lesson. I hope you will join us in this experience!
